Part 1: Allergy: Symptoms

Part 1: Allergy: Symptoms

Any symptom or condition of the body anywhere in the body  at any time can be allergy. Caroleen Bateson-Koch DC ND

It is hard to reconcile this since we associate allergy with seasonal allergies. You know the symptoms, itchy, water eyes and a runny nose.

But, allergy is far more insidious than that.

Often the food we eat is the very thing we are allergic to but the connection is missed because of the time between eating the food and symptoms appearing is too long.

Food is suppose to be nourishing, why is my body reacting?

Dr. James C. Breneman estimates that between 60-80% of the population has unknown food allergies/intolerances.

Symptoms appear when the toxic load is reached.

Toxicity occurs both externally, from our environment, what we breath and touch. As well as internally, our own bodies create toxins through everyday biochemically reactions and factors such as stress, thoughts and emotions can create biochemical toxins as well!

Our bodies will make adjustments and compensations to neutralize these toxins and to keep the body in balance for as long as possible.

Once the tissues, organs and systems reach a point where they can’t keep up, the compensating systems become exhausted and symptoms appear.

Because we are biochemically different symptoms can range from the classic allergy reactions with itchy watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing.

However, it can also appear as anxiety, agitation, fast heart beat, headache, depression, insomnia, arthritis, edema, asthma, canker sores, constipation, acne, bloating, the list goes on and on.

What health issues are you having that may be related to allergy?

In addition to food allergies and everyday biochemical toxins, it is estimated that between 8-15 pounds of toxic material is ingested into our bodies per year!

Whatever goes into our bodies must be dealt with by our bodies.

It is not yet known the combined and accumulated affects of all the toxins we ingest. But, toxicity diseases like cancer and cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death, taking 17.6 million people in 2016 and it is estimated to kill 23.6 million people by 2030.

The combination of internal and external toxins that need to be eliminated can be overwhelming for the body which cause exhaustion, back up and stagnation.

This stagnation, leads to irritation and inflammation which damaged the tissues and organs and undermines the overall health of the body.

In the next part of this series on allergy, I will shed some light on why allergy occurs. Spoiler alert, its not the foods fault! And the following part will cover the steps you can take to improve your health and avoid allergy.
